Future Founders empowers young innovators in regional Western Australia aged 16–25 to turn their ideas into impactful ventures through hands-on training, mentoring, and real-world experiences. The program builds entrepreneurial skills, confidence, and connections, helping participants launch businesses, drive innovation, and strengthen their local communities.

Future Works equips young people in regional Western Australia with the practical skills, confidence, and industry connections needed to thrive in the future of work. Through hands-on training, mentoring, and real-world projects, participants explore emerging industries, develop entrepreneurial mindsets, and build pathways to meaningful careers.

Next Steps

We have developed parts of the program plan and are looking to further validate the concept with a university as the founding partner.
We would like to trial the program with a group of prospective PhD candidates (minimum of five participants) in 2026.
Results from the trial would then feed into further iterations with a stretch goal to look to east coast expansion.

A Venture Accelerator for PhD Students to increase the number of high impact, evidenced based, deep tech Australian Businesses

VenturePhD is designed to provide PhD applicants/candidates with training, mentoring and networking to ensure their research project is designed to achieve maximum impact.

Developed in collaboration with a team of research and business innovation experts and supported by online learning consultants to develop the required online modules, the goals of the program will include:

Support the development of PhD research proposals with commercial potential, while also meeting rigorous academic requirements.
Educate PhD candidates on IP and commercialisation early and often.
Help to identify industry supervisors/partners and investor opportunities.
Encourage entrepreneurial PhDs with high impact outcomes.
Develop PhD graduates who can be effective startup leaders with entrepreneurial and communication skills .
Develop novel businesses that are strongly evidence based or utilise deep tech.
